bamford sheepdog trials
Monday 29 May 2017

Bamford Sheepdog Trials are held on the Bank Holiday Monday at the end of May and are brought to you by Bamford Sheepdog Trial Association - a registered charity which was formed in 1943.

Hill farming, sheep and sheepdogs have been the backbone of the Hope Valley for hundreds of years and we are very proud of our heritage. Every year, throughout the Valley, the villages celebrate their identities and the way of life that we have known and loved for generations.

Watch the farmers showcase their amazing skills as they effortlessly guide their dogs in a number of tasks. This is a great family day out, with many displays of sheepdog ability and agility, as well as sheep sheering and competitions.

Perhaps buy a gift or a new plant or two for your garden?  Take advantage of the free craft tent and let your creative side loose. Learn a little about traditional spinning of local wool. The younger children will love the enclosed play area with its accessible equipment.

In the Hope Valley no gala or fête is complete without one of our fabulous fell races. The Bamford Fell Race is some 4.5 miles and is open to all over the age of 18.

The Bamford Sheepdog Trials raise much needed money for local good causes so we hope that we can count on you to lend your support. In return, we promise you a fun day out.

7:30am - 6pm      Small admission charge applies
