Activities For Children
The Hope Valley may be surrounded by stunning countryside and feel a million miles from the hustle and bustle of the city, but that doesn’t mean to say that things round here are quiet! We know that children don’t want peace and quiet, they want adventure, excitement and most of all lots and lots of fun! There’s so much for children to do in the Hope Valley; from organised children’s activities such as music classes to letting them discover their wild sides with outdoor sports and adventure playgrounds. All year round activities such as the farm parks or play areas and one off, periodic or seasonal events such as gala weeks, balloon rides and helicopter rides.
The wide open spaces of the Derbyshire countryside provides the ideal playground for children and gives them a greater sense of freedom than they could ever get in a town or city. Imagine having the whole of the Hope Valley as your back yard! There are so many wonders for children to discover, such as amazing wild animals and plant life on a woodland walk and spooky ruins of ancient castles whose colourful pasts echo around the walls.
We have such a wide choice of family days out in the Hope Valley, Peak District and surrounding area that you’ll want to stay longer just to fit it all in! Take a journey under the ground and visit one of our many caves and caverns for underground adventures! Or have a splashing time in a heated open air pool! If you want to see more of the unique wildlife in these parts then visit a farm park or animal attraction and let the children get up close and personal to a whole array of animals from newborn lambs to Scottish wildcats!
If your children love outdoor sports then you’ll be truly spoilt for choice with the whole of the Hope Valley and beyond open for recreational sports of every kind! Take a beginner course in canoeing, follow a cycling path around some of our most stunning features or get harnessed up for a climbing experience. We’ve also indoor sports centres for rainy days which have children’s swimming activities, football, dance classes, tennis and much more!
So no matter what the weather, there is always something going on in and around the Hope Valley to ensure that you and your children have an unforgettable break that will leave you gasping for more! So have a browse through this site and let your Hope Valley adventure begin.
